1625 words of Velvette having a moment with an idiot before one of her shows, which she takes care of herself because she wants to, but puts her in a bad mood for the rest of the night. Fortunately, Vox and Val are always there to try to help, even if she doesn't need it, and make her feel bett
I'm also of the opinion Velvette doesn't usually want to get her hands dirty with people's blood if she doesn't have to. You can see it in S2, where her public fight with Husk was her mostly staying distant. Likely so she could also get a good view with her phone for streaming it. People expect that of her. But there are times when such blatant disrespect requires something much more hands on. For her sake and the sake of the people around and their opinion of her. No doubt she would have been in a worse mood if she had let Vox or Val handle it for her.
But just the fact either would do so for her, while also not taking it from her, is perfect. Her boys know that she managed her show well enough that there would be nothing else to let her bad mood out on and that would mean she would want a drink. They know she wouldn't want to do it with others around while in this mood. So it's all set up for her? I love them.

She doesn’t really need this level of protection, but it is pretty nice to know it’s there. This has to be my favourite line, because it's a part of my favourite concept. The recognition she can stand on her own, but doesn't have to. A support group for a woman who is completely capable on her own, has a safety net regardless, but most of the time just needs that net for some de-stressing after she handles the rest on her own. No doubt in life she had people either thinking she had to be protected or that she didn't need anyone. Here she has the perfect balance of what she likes. Not what anyone else would think for her. And I love it.
