I read this in 2024 ago and then lost it. This is the fic which convinced me to use Maxwell as Vox's human name as well. I liked that it didn’t start with a V. Vox choosing the V theme instead of starting with it still appeals a lot to me, even if Vincent Whittman is a good name for him.

Sure, there are a few things which have been proven differently by S2, but that doesn’t stop this fic from still being absolutely stunning. Another way Vox and Valentino could have been, in a divergent universe. It’s 9,161 words of playing nice over Vox always wanting what he doesn’t have. And then, when he does have it, deciding he still wants Val most.
